Chinese Nonverbal Vocalization Database
The Chinese Nonverbal Vocalization Database (CNVD) comprises recordings from 50 speakers portraying 32 nonverbal vocalizations at medium and high intensity levels.
Emotions covered are Adoration (喜爱), Amusement (好笑), Anger (气愤), Awe (令人惊叹), Confusion (困惑), Contempt (轻蔑), Contentment (满足), Desire (欲望), Desire — For Food (食欲), Desire — For Sex (性欲), Disgust (厌恶), Physical Disgust (恶心), Distress (苦恼), Embarrassment (尴尬), Excitement (兴奋), Fear (恐惧), Interest (兴趣), Moved (感动), Physical Pain (痛苦), Praise (赞扬), Pride (自豪/骄傲), Realization (恍然大悟), Relief (解脱), Sadness (悲伤), Sajiao (撒娇), Shame (羞愧/内疚), Snicker (坏笑), Snigger (偷笑), Surprise (惊讶), Positive Surprise (惊喜), Sympathy (同情), and Triumph (胜利).
For each stimulus in CNVD, we provide detailed perceptual and acoustic descriptions, including recognition accuracy, perceived intensity, valence, arousal, and eGeMAPS acoustic feature values (Eyben et al., 2016). The database is available on OSF for research purposes only.
